Bonnie Bergstrom Obituary

Bonnie M. Bergstrom, aged 88, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born on July 26, 1936, Bonnie dedicated her life to her family and her community, embodying the virtues of a devoted Christian and loving grandmother with a servant's heart.

Bonnie graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1954, then married her sweetheart, Donald C. Bergstrom on September 17, 1955. Bonnie chose a path that centered around family and service. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mom and later worked as a stocker at Walmart for 17 years. Her commitment to faith was evident in her active participation at Howell General Baptist Church, where she was not only a member but also a fervent volunteer, adult Sunday School teacher, and participant in numerous church activities.

Her hobbies included reading and spending cherished moments with her family. Bonnie's generosity extended beyond her home as she volunteered at the Howell Food Pantry, ensuring those less fortunate were provided for.

Bonnie is survived by her loving children, Lisa Isaacs, Shari Reeley, and Steven Bergstrom (Opal); her cherished grandchildren, Christy Bowman, Mandy Bergstrom, Christopher Reeley, Sarah Batton, and Dannielle Wentzel; and her adored great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Carolyn, Victoria, Damien, Blayke, Ellieanna, and Zayne, as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Paisley, Preston, and Malach; niece and nephews, Tamara and Brian Bergstrom, and Dan Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on May 1, 1999, her parents, William and Florence (Beer) Hill; her twin brother, Robert Hill, to whom she was extremely close to; daughter-in-law, Susan Bergstrom; and her nephew, David Hill

Bonnie's life will be celebrated at Denning Family Funeral Home on November 13, 2024, with a visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Bellefontaine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Howell General Baptist Church Food Pantry or to the General Baptist Missions "Murphy Family." Bonnie's legacy of kindness and community service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
