Cecil M (Cox) Jackson, 78, passed away on May 14, 2022, at the Heritage Center in Evansville. Cecil was born in Mt. Vernon on May 14, 1944, the daughter of Calvin, Sr. and Macel (Hust) Cox.
Cecil worked as a cook for many years and later worked in group homes as a caregiver. She was a former member of the Church of God Ministry and had attended The Independent Pentecostal Church before she couldn't go anymore due to her health. She enjoyed sewing and had made many blankets for her nieces and great-nieces.
She is survived by her sisters, Dean Hogan and Betty Horton; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Herdis, Calvin, Jr., and John Cox; sister, Mary Chandler.
Per Cecil’s wishes, there will be no services, and a private burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon is overseeing the arrangements. Online condolences may be left at denningfamilyfuneralhome.com
