Donald L. Bailey, 78, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Linda White Hospice in Evansville. Donnie was born in Mt. Vernon on September 3, 1944, the son of the late John Lee Bailey and Ruby (Barnes) Ricketts. He married his sweetheart Pam (Watkins) Bailey on October 25, 1968.

To those that knew Donnie knew what a true servant of God looked like. He was dependable, loyal, and above all else genuine. He was a true friend to many and always treated everyone like his own family. He always seemed to know what everyone’s favorite candy was and miraculously had it in his pocket every time you saw him. He loved his family fiercely including all his “adopted family” and will be truly missed.
Donnie is survived by his wife Pam; son, Joe (Kim) Bailey; grandchildren, Jacob (Caroline) and Halle Bailey; sister, Brenda VanZant, brother, John Bailey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sue Ayers, Norma Hawkins, and Faye Pollard.
