Elizabeth E. (Allen) James, 43 of Carmi, IL formally of Mt. Vernon, passed away at her home on March 15, 2023. Elizabeth was born in Evansville on October 13, 1979, the daughter of Daniel Bean and ReDonna (Jolley) Allen.

Elizabeth worked as a CNA for area nursing homes. She enjoyed reading, journaling, listening to music, watching tv, going fishing with kids, and for the last couple of years, her life revolved around her grandkids.

She is survived by her parents, ReDonna and Daniel; grandfather, Eddie Jolley; son, Erick (Taylor) James; daughter, Katelyn (James) Wolf; grandchildren, Ezra Lowery, Ryleigh Wolf, 2 grandbabies on the way, Everett James Wolf and baby James; brother, Thomas (Laura) Allen of Sparks Nevada; nieces, Dorothy Allen; nephews, Jakobian, Augustus, and Sebastian Allen all of Sparks Nevada; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gwen Jolley, Wayne, and Sandra Allen; adopted father, Thomas Allen; ex-father-in-law, Everett James; and great-grandmother, Della Bradley; as well as several aunts and uncles.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the funeral home, with Denny King officiating. Visitation will take place from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
