Harvey G. Michels, 68, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at Silver Birch Assisted Living in Evansville on May 4, 2023. Harvey was born on November 2, 1954, the son of Norman and Louella (Owens) Michels in Fairfield Illinois.
Harvey joined the United States Army after graduating high school. After his time in the service, he started his career as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Nascar races when he wasn't working. He especially enjoyed being able to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Harvey is survived by his children, Clarissa (Jeremy) Muller, Melody Michels, and Christopher Michels; grandkids, Donaven Krack, Anthony Muller, Jayden Muller, Haylee (Nate) Cox, Bryleigh Michels, and Flyn Michels; great-grandchildren, Kiara Krack, Mauriana Krack, and Everly Cox; brother, Joe Slone; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Michael Alan Krack, Infant twins Michels, and Infant triplets Krack; sisters, Nancy Paul, and Rebecca Smith; brother, Terry Carter.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Denning Family Funeral Home with Military rites to follow. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at the funeral home to help defray the funeral cost.
