Joan V. (Russell) Kiger

Joan V. (Russell) Kiger, 88, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on September 21, 2024, at Linda White Hospice House, surrounded by her family. Born on May 18, 1936, in Evansville, she was the daughter of Herbert and Vera (Groves) Russell. 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kiger, son Russell Kiger, and brother Jack Russell. Joan is survived by her son, Mark (Jennifer) Kiger, and granddaughter, Hanna Kiger. Also, leaves behind many cousins, friends, and loved ones. 

Joan dedicated many years to the Evansville School Corporation as a bookkeeper before retiring to raise and spoil her only grandchild, Hanna, who meant the world to her. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted prayer warrior and touched the lives of many, always ready to support family and friends in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
