John F. Hufnagel

John F. Hufnagel, 60, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 15, 2024. John was born in Evansville on November 23, 1963, the son of the late Raymond and Janet (Baker) Hufnagel. John married his soulmate, Karen (Winiger) Hufnagel, on April 16, 1992.

John worked as a power sweeper in his youth, before his health suddenly declined. John loved trains, he could tell you everything about any train he seen and collected anything railroad-related. He enjoyed exploring old forgotten tracks with his buddy.  

John is survived by his wife, Karen, siblings, Laura, Linda, Janet, Nancy, and Mary; brother-in-law, Bryan (Holly) Cundiff; niece and nephew, Nicole and Sean, and 3 great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Chris and Cindy.
