Joseph "JW" W. Kusturin

Joseph W. (JW) Kusturin, 44, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Riverbend Nursing and Rehab. JW was born June 1, 1979, to Terry Kusturin.

JW was an avid sports fanatic, with some of his favorite teams being the Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Atlanta Braves. He also loved music and didn’t limit himself to just one type of genre, but enjoyed listening to all types. He also liked fishing, playing bingo, and being around his friends and family.

JW is survived by his sisters, Amanda Craig and Brittany Graham; nieces Kylee Snelling and Emily Carter; uncles, Don (Debbie) Kusturin and Rick (Meg) Kusturin; friend and caregiver, Brian Harper, and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Terry; grandparents, Joe and Annie Kusturin; and uncles, Larry and Floyd Kusturin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
