Lloyd W. Craig

Lloyd W. Craig, 86, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Lloyd was born in New Harmony on November 6, 1936, the son of Doris and Juanita (Bullock) Craig. He was married to the love of his life for 63 years, Mary (Lilleston) Craig.

Lloyd worked as a truck driver for ADM milling and retired after 30 years. He loved antique tractors, along with watching and participating in tractor pulls at the Posey County Fair. Lloyd liked to be outside, especially if he was out mowing grass. He was known for his famous greeting phrases, such as, “Hey meanness”, “You staying out of trouble”, and “Hays in the barn”. He was a member of Agape Family Ministry Church in Mt. Vernon. Mostly Lloyd was a family man, who loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them and spoiling his grandchildren.

He is survived by his, wife, Mary; daughters, Pam Utley and Tracy Griffin; grandchildren, Angie (Jimmy) Attebury, Justin White, Adam (Nikki Curtis) Pool, Jason (Valerie) Utley, Rachel (Beau) Hobson, and Travis (Katy) Utley; great-grandchildren, Logan Knapp, Liam & Lynnox Attebury, Austin Scott, Kenna Hobson, Evelynn Nall, Ryker Pool, Thea Rose Pool, Weston & Camden Utley; brother, David Craig; dear friend, Kevin Woolsey; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Gene Craig; sister, Irma Kuhn.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at the Agape Family Ministries church in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Jim Weihrauch officiating. Visitation will take place from 11 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Mary to help defray medical expenses.
