Loretta J. (McCulloch) Greene

Loretta J. (McCulloch) Greene, 86, of Mt. Vernon passed away on September 4, 2024, at Solarbron. Loretta was born in Lenox Tennessee on May 31, 1938, the daughter of Gabriel  Edward and Jessie (Parnell) McCulloch.

Loretta married Billie Greene December 14, 1958 and together they had three children. Loretta took her role as mother to heart and was able to stay home and raise her 3 children. Loretta was very much involved with her family’s lives and loved being with them. She and Bill spent a lot of time going to dances back in their prime. She also enjoyed bowling and watching sports, especially college teams Loretta was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family and for the many parties that she hosted. Most requested were her homemade pizzas, chicken and asparagus casserole, and no-bake cookies. 

She is survived by her husband, Billie; children, Viki (Chris) Weinzapfel, Robert (Kathy) Greene, and Michelle (Rick) Oltrogge; grandchildren, Melissa Erwin, Jake (Tammie) Erwin, Josh (Karen) Greene, Kurt (Nicole) Greene, Megan (Hunter) Brantly, Jimmy Young, Johnny Young, Dakota Greene, Bayli (Spencer) Turner; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; nieces, Yonni Jones and Nelda Schirey. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Pete, Cot, and Buddy McCulloch, Reen Painter, Nora Smith, Trudy Young, and Faye Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Denning Family Funeral Home with Brother Jim Weihrauch officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at Alzheimer’s Association or American Parkinson Disease Association.
