Martha Jean Lester 94 of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away Thursday February 6, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville. She was born August 24, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Edward F. and Dean (York) Galloway. She married William H. Lester  and he preceded her in death in June of 1972.

Martha worked in retail mostly for PN Hirsch. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and painting ceramics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (David) Vonderscher and Gail (Keith) Morrow; grandchildren, Kriste (Michael) Bullard and Travis (Devon) Vonderscher; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Emerson Valentine; great-great-grandson, Noah James Ray; and her brother, Gary (Carol) Galloway. She was preceded in death by her husband, her granddaughter, Michelle Murdach; brothers, Edward, Jr. and Max Galloway and sisters, Gladys McKeendree, Delores Pullman and Jackie Winstead.
