Rita S. (Felty) Williams

Rita S. (Felty) Williams, 74, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Premier Healthcare of New Harmony.

Born on October 21, 1950, Rita was the daughter of Proctor and Mary (Greenwell) Felty. She was a member of Trinity Church in Mt. Vernon and found great comfort in reading her Bible daily until illness made it no longer possible.

Rita had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and writing, and loved spending time outdoors—whether camping or tending to her yard. A talented cook, she took pride in preparing meals for her family and sharing time around the table.

She is survived by her children, Andy (Christina) Alldredge and Jennifer (Andy Byers) Alldredge; grandchildren, Wesley (Gemma) Alldredge, Austin (Izzy Word) Peerman, Zachary Peerman, Alexis (Lance Carlisle) Alldredge, Jesse Alldredge, and Maizee Alldredge; great-grandchildren, Cade Carlisle, Kali Alldredge, and Atticus Alldredge; and her brother, Alvin Felty.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williams; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Ashley Alldredge; brothers, Marion, Gerald, and Ross Felty; and sisters, Charlotte Renschler, Nelly Topper, Carolyn Head, and Tonya Felty.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with burial to follow at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
