Ruth A. (Burnett) Miley

Ruth A. Miley, 50, of Poseyville, passed away at Linda White Hospice House on July 24, 2025, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Carmi on August 20, 1974, to Henry and Fannie (Travelstead) Burnett.

Ruth spent many years working as a CNA at Premier Health Care in New Harmony, where she formed lasting relationships and made a meaningful impact on those she cared for. Outside of her work, Ruth enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, but above all, she cherished being with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Phil (Lynnsey) Miley and Nika Miley; her grandchildren, Addilynn, Landon, Aryona, Hayzleigh, Matthew, and Lilly; her companion, Patrick Allison; and her brother, Donnie Travelstead. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron Miley, and her daughter, Sammi Jo Miley.

Family and Friends are invited to come share memories and celebrate Ruth's life on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 pm at the Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, or at the Half Moon Saloon following the visitation at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
