Toney L. Thomas, Jr.

Toney L. Thomas, Jr., 55, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Park Terrace Village in Evansville. He was born in Carmi, IL on May 9th, 1967, the son of Toney Thomas, Sr. and Martha (Pryor) Clark.

Toney worked for both Ford and Chevy dealerships in Mt. Vernon, in the mechanic shop. He had a passion for fishing and that was where he could be found anytime he had a chance. Toney could also be found at Tom’s CB where he enjoyed hanging out with the guys.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Martha & Sonny Clark; step-mother, Sandy Thomas; brothers, Tim Thomas and Kerry Thomas; sister, Kasey Irby. He is preceded in death by his father, Toney Thomas, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Denning Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Thompsonville, Illinois. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the funeral home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
