Vincent W. Robinson

Vincent Wayne Robinson of Grayville, IL passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2023, from injuries suffered in a wreck. Vince was born November 28, 1970, in Evansville, IN.

Vince was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1989 to 1992.

Vincent, better known by his friends as Vinny, worked as an electrician in the coal mines. He spent 18 years working underground before moving above ground in March 2023, to continue his maintenance work. Vince loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter both with guns and bow. He also loved being on the river fishing, especially with his friends.

The greatest joy for Vincent was becoming a father. Harper was the whole world to him and every moment he had her he made sure it was her day.

Vince is survived by his daughter, Harper Robinson; parents, Donna Robinson of Mt. Vernon, IN and Dennis & Kate Robinson of Batavia, Iowa; sister, Sarah Robinson of Mt. Vernon; brother, Jeff Ronald of Mt. Vernon; stepsiblings, Amanda (Chris) Sieren of Batavia, Iowa, Rewa (Tim) Moser of Ft. Myer, FL, Glenda (Rod) Irwin, of Hendrick, Iowa, Rhonda (Dave) Morton of Ottumwa, Iowa, Harry (Beth) Eaton of Bogalusa, LA, and Julie (Kevin) Atwell of Ottumwa, Iowa.

His sister, Deborah “Debby” preceded him in death in 1991. Also preceding him were his paternal grandparents Marie and Harry Robinson and his maternal grandparents Ilah Carson and Donald Ronald.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial to follow at Weiss Cemetery with Military rites by the Owen Dunn Post #5 American Legion. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
