Verlo "Peggy" Bell (Pierce) Digman

Verlo B Digman, known to all as Peggy, age 74 of New Harmony, went to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, Jan 18, 2023.

Peggy was born to the late Harrell and Verlo Pierce. She was born Sept 8, 1948, in Yakima WA. Peggy and her family moved to Evansville IN when she was a child where she lived many years until they later moved to Newburgh IN where she graduated from Castle High School. She married Harry J Digman, Sr. in 1966 and she joined him as he served in the Army. She and Harry were married until his passing in July of 2006. Before her health declined and she could no longer drive, she attended Bethesda General Baptist Church in Savah, IN.

Peggy worked as a receptionist in the Health Sciences Building at Deaconess for over 20 years and retired on June 1, 2022. She continued working there as supplemental staff up until her passing. Peggy enjoyed her work and talking to everyone who came through during her shift.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cris Cooper of Vincennes, and sons, Jay Digman of Mt Vernon, IN and Charley Digman of Evansville, IN. She had 8 grandchildren, Ashleigh (Cole) West of Princeton IN, Gage Cooper of Vincennes IN, Alexis Cooper of Indianapolis, IN, Travis Digman of Evansville IN, Taylor (Adam) Bowlds of Evansville IN, Payton Digman, Jayse Digman, Carly Digman, and Kai Roberts all of Carmi IL. She had one great-grandson, Boone Bowlds of Evansville, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Pierce, and Belinda Pierce both of GA, and a sister Sarah Strong of Henderson KY.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Denning Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, IN with Rev. Steve Forister officiating.
